Melanie Rogers recently returned to Calgary, Alberta, Canada as Vice-President, University Advancement at Mount Royal University (MRU). Melanie is at the forefront of MRU’s community engagement efforts in development, donor relations and advancement services, marketing and communications, government relations and alumni relations. With a focus on expanding and enhancing the reputation of the University, Melanie is a member of the executive team ensuring strategic goals are met and bringing a passion for building relationships with internal and external audiences.
Melanie previously led both the University’s marketing and communications portfolio and the fund development portfolio. As Associate Vice-President of Marketing and Communications, she played a key role in the development of the strategic plan, oversaw the launch of several successful brand and marketing campaigns, and led the MRU crisis communications team. As Executive Director of the Mount Royal University Foundation, she was instrumental in the success of the Changing the Face of Education $250 million campaign.
Between 2021 and 2024 Melanie spent time in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at NAIT, the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. As Vice-President, External Relations, she led a broad portfolio including marketing, communications, digital and web strategy, events and conference services, fundraising and alumni relations. She has held leadership positions at Red Deer College, Augustana University College in Camrose, Alberta and the University of Alberta, and served as the Executive Director of the Red Deer Downtown Business Association.
Melanie is married to John, and is proud mom to Jackson, Aidan and Caroline, proud grandmom to Kingston and Greyson, and proud dog mom to cockapoo Charlotte.
